Meet the Real Northern Powerhouse

10024_RealNorthernPowerhouseImage (1)The Government has plans for strengthening the economy of the North. They are focusing on skills, transport, innovation and culture and concentrating efforts on Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield, but they’re missing an important point: the North already is a powerhouse. At an individual business level, the progressive attitude the Government seeks to promote is already delivering the goods.

A prime example is Lancashire Trade Frames who are heading to this year’s FIT Show to demonstrate just what application, industry, and skills can achieve. Founded in 2003, Lancs Trade has enjoyed substantial growth every year since. It continues to expand its product range and to invest in both plant and people. Mark Rowland, the firm’s Managing Director said, “We refuse to be put in a box. As far as we’re concerned, there are no limits and that’s what we’re coming to FIT Show to prove.”

The business already offers two systems, Spectus and Kömmerling, Smart Aluminium for bifolds and will be exhibiting the latest addition to its range – the PremiFold door and window system.

The Lancs Trade team know the benefit of collaboration too, and there will be a walk through to the stand of another vibrant, north-west business, decorative glass supplier RegaLead. Mark Rowland, again, “That’s just common sense to us – we’re working together for mutual benefit. But then our straight talking northern approach is all about sense. And sense has built us a very solid, expanding business.”
