New face at Lancs Trade is ‘old hand’ in the industry
Bury-based Lancashire Trade Frames are delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Kelly as their new production manager. Tony started as a production operative at the tender age of 18 and now has more than 30 years’ experience of industry change and development. His rise to a senior managerial position has taken him through employment with Plastech Windows, Stormseal and HWL.
Talking about his new role, Tony said, ‘If it’s happened in this industry, I’ve seen it, and that level of experience means that I can cope with every new development that comes along. That’s good news because I’m expecting plenty of progress under LTF’s forward thinking approach.’
Tony has already made his mark on the shop floor where, under his leadership, everything has to be ship-shape 24/7, but Tony doesn’t believe in a dictatorial attitude. ‘I’ve been there, done that, got the T-shirt and I know what it’s like,’ he said. ‘Ultimately, we’re a team. My strengths are organisation, technical capability and promoting the right attitude, but I know that every member of our team has talent and something to contribute. It’s up to me to bring that out.’
Like many at the fabrication business, Tony’s a keen follower of sport. He’s a lifelong supporter of Manchester City and is often at the Etihad getting behind the team. LTF’s MD, Mark Rowland said about the appointment, ‘It’s amazing how quickly Tony’s become a key part of our operation, but perhaps it shouldn’t be. We share the same values, the same interests and the same belief in manufacturing. We’re glad he’s on board.’
